MAT.

MAT studio is operated by Eriko Watanabe who lives and works in Amsterdam.  She is currently an Architect and Urban Designer at Urhahn Urban Design apart from MAT studio.  She has a master degree in Tokyo Metropolitan University in Japan (1999) and graduated from the Berlage Institute in 2004.  She has worked in plural offices such as OMA, Toyo Ito, Buro2, Meiho Facility Works, Gensler Tokyo, etc.  Her multiple experience ranging from the product design, interior, architecture and urban planning made her relational thinking and strategy among the different scales and players around the ‘subject’ in depth.  She has collaborated with Elastik (Amsterdam), Joy Ride Enterprises (Melbourne), CIA inc. (Tokyo), SPEAC inc. (Tokyo).

MAT's interest is to re-organize, re-structure the boundary around architecture.
